Quick Quotes
Q. You're inside the top 30, playing at Augusta National. How does that sound?
CALEY MCGINTY: I'm so excited. Even like waking up this morning knowing I was going to go play Augusta after the round today was just one of the best feelings ever, and I can't wait.
Q. Knowing you were in a good position coming into this morning, did it make it a little easier to wake up early and come out and finish your round a little bit?
CALEY MCGINTY: A little. I think my last three holes were pretty tough. I had two 5-irons on 16, 17. I made double on 16 two days ago, so I couldn't just coast that. I had to concentrate a little bit. But yeah, it's nice to know I'm going to be playing.
Q. You played really well this spring coming into this tournament. What does that do for your confidence level coming in? What were your expectations coming into this week?
CALEY MCGINTY: I didn't really have any expectations. I just wanted to enjoy being a part of it. I hadn't played a competitive round since January, so just trying to get in a bit of a groove and just take everything in, I guess.
Q. You've had a lot of success in your golf career. Are you going to be able to take away from anything you've done in the past that's going to help you out this weekend playing at a place like Augusta National?
CALEY MCGINTY: Yes, I've definitely played in a lot of high pressure situations and being able to deal with nerves. I know I'm definitely going to be nervous on the 1st tee at Augusta. So I can use that for sure.
Q. What are you most looking forward to these next two days?
CALEY MCGINTY: 1st tee at Augusta.
Q. 1st tee?
CALEY MCGINTY: For sure, yeah.
Q. Do you have any swing thoughts you're going to be working on to keep those nerves at bay, or is it just going to be deal with it as it comes?
CALEY MCGINTY: Just deal with it, just take in everything around me. Not too much focus about the golf, just enjoy it as much as I can.
Q. What's your caddie situation?
CALEY MCGINTY: My caddie, her name is Jenny. She was my assistant coach at Kent State. We're really close, so it's nice to have her.
Q. Is she going to stick with you?
CALEY MCGINTY: Yes.
Q. What's your mindset kind of going into today, going over there? Seeing the course for the first round or for the practice round, what are you looking to get out of today out there at Augusta?
CALEY MCGINTY: Definitely I've heard it's quite slopey and you need to know where to miss. So just trying to get as much information around the greens as I can, playing from good misses and stuff like that. Yeah, just trying to get as much information as I can in my book.
Q. Have you gotten any advice from anybody who's played out there before? Have you talked to anybody about what it's going to be like, whether it be how to handle the golf course or you said the nerves?
CALEY MCGINTY: I spoke to Annabell Fuller from England. She played here the last few years. Everyone said it's so slopey. Just being on the right side of the pin is what I've heard a lot, so we'll see.
