Augusta, Georgia, USA
Quick Quotes
Q. You're in the top ten going into the final round here at Augusta National. What's the confidence level like right now going into the weekend?
ALINE KRAUTER: I feel like it's pretty high. I played really solid yesterday. I definitely kept it together. I saved myself with my putting yesterday a little bit, which was super good. I'm super excited.
Q. How difficult was it to come out here and have to finish up a little bit in the morning?
ALINE KRAUTER: It was difficult, but the nice sunrise made it a little bit easier. And my family's here. So that's been super fun.
Q. What's it been like to share this experience with them?
ALINE KRAUTER: It's great. I'm super excited to show them Augusta today. I've been there before, so I'm excited to show them.
Q. What are you most looking forward to showing them?
ALINE KRAUTER: I think everything. I think the drive down Magnolia Lane is going to be super fun. That's going to be number one. And then the course is obviously beautiful.
Q. What do you remember from your first time out there?
ALINE KRAUTER: It played really difficult. The greens are super slopey, definitely more slopey than they look on TV.
Q. How much of an advantage is it going to be for you to have experience out there compared to some of the first timers?
ALINE KRAUTER: I don't know, I think it depends. I think it's going to play difficult for everyone.
Q. What's the rest of your day look like today?
ALINE KRAUTER: I'm going to have some coffee now and just hang out, I think. I don't think I'm going to practice now.
Q. Do you use a local caddie, or are you going to use the caddie you used the last couple years?
ALINE KRAUTER: I'm not sure yet. I think I'll play it by ear today.
Q. What's the decision-making process on that?
ALINE KRAUTER: I think I'm going to see. I think I'm going to have my brother walk with me today for sure, and then I'll make the decision after. I'm not sure, I think I worked really well with my brother the last two days. So I think I might stick with him, but we'll see.
Q. Besides the slopiness of the greens, is there anything else you learned from that experience, I guess, just kind of how to handle yourself in that sort of environment?
ALINE KRAUTER: I think just these last couple days have prepared me pretty well. This course is playing really difficult. The greens are super slopey, really fast too, very firm. That's what I remember from Augusta too.
Yeah, I think it was a great challenge here already, and I think that got us ready for what is to come at Augusta.
Q. Who was there on 18 to catch your finish?
ALINE KRAUTER: My brother was there obviously because he was on the bag. My college coach was there. Dr. Rice was there. My mom was there. A couple other people maybe.
Q. Why is that special?
ALINE KRAUTER: I mean, sharing it with Dr. Rice is obviously special. I mean, special for obvious reasons, I would say. She's also my academic adviser, so having her here seems super familiar to me. And then my college coach obviously, it's great having her out here. Then my mom and my brother, it's always fun to have them watch me.
