Q. First thoughts after that round?

PHOEBE BRINKER: Yes, it was a great round. I had some ups and downs out there, but I had a lot of birdies. It was a really exciting round.

Q. Going through that around 9 and 8, what was going through your mind?

PHOEBE BRINKER: Yeah, I had a ton of confidence out there, the front nine especially. I was hitting everything inside of 15 feet and was rolling along. When it got windy, it got a little harder out there, but I just stuck to my game and kept my confidence.

Q. How did you adjust?

PHOEBE BRINKER: Yeah, my game plan changed a little, just hitting some lower shots, but just sticking to the same plan that I practiced yesterday.

Q. So your practice round prepared you for today?

PHOEBE BRINKER: For sure, yeah.

Q. Is there anything that surprised you?

PHOEBE BRINKER: I think just the firmness of the greens. They're even more firm today than they were during the practice round. Nothing too surprising out there other than the winds.

Q. Anything you're going to work on today?

PHOEBE BRINKER: Yes, definitely my pitching and my putting for sure. Short game is really important out there.

Q. How many fairways did you hit today?

PHOEBE BRINKER: I don't know. Almost all of them. I think I missed like two fairways out there.

Q. Is this one of the best driving performances for you today?

PHOEBE BRINKER: Yes, that's definitely my strength. When that's in order, it makes golf a lot easier.

Q. What's been the impetus for kind of your breakout? I think the last couple of seasons you had Gina and Erica kind of grabbed most of the headlines. Was there a point where you went from thinking, okay, I'm a good player and now like I'm one of the best players in the world?

PHOEBE BRINKER: I think just getting the opportunity to play with them every day and just keeping up with them and learning from them has really helped me grow as a player and as a person.
