Quick Quotes
Q. First round at the 2022 Augusta National Women's Amateur in the books. What do you think? How did it go?
ASHLEY MENNE: It was good. I had a lot of fun. I had the honor of hitting the first tee shot this morning, and it was pretty amazing, pretty cool experience. Had a little crowd going. Yeah, I just -- I was more excited than nervous, for sure.
Q. What was going through your mind when you were standing over the ball and you saw everybody?
ASHLEY MENNE: At first I was a little confused with it, like am I supposed to go now? It was cool. I'm just excited to get the round started and play some golf.
Q. Anything you picked up on today that can be used tomorrow from the practice round? Anything you picked up on the course today that you missed in the practice round today?
ASHLEY MENNE: I would say some of the tee box moved, so just that and the angles into the greens. Other than that, not really. I think I kind of figured it out a little bit. Just hopefully I'll hit some solid shots into the greens and I can get it going.
Q. You've had a good year at Arizona State. You guys are coming off with a historic win off your last event. You're coming in with a little bit of confidence. What's it like after your first round here?
ASHLEY MENNE: I would say we just played Papago, and the greens were pretty firm out there. It's kind of similar to what we have here today. I feel a little more prepared, I would say, with the speeds and the firmness.
I think just coming off that momentum of putting well and hitting good shots into the greens gives me a little confidence going into the next day.
Q. What do you want to work on for tomorrow's final round?
ASHLEY MENNE: Probably just hitting some iron shots on the range and maybe just some short putts just to reassure myself. That's about it. Nothing too crazy.
