THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. You got to the semifinals in doubles in Indian Wells. What kind of role does doubles have in your day-to-day training?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Day-to-day training? Not at all. No, but, I mean, the doubles kept me busy. If you lose first round, or second round in my case, in Indian Wells, it's a long time until Miami.
It was fun to play. We actually did quite well. Obviously Jack and John played much better than us, so in the semis we didn't really have chances. It was a good tournament in that regards.
Actually I enjoyed my time in Indian Wells. Even though I didn't do well in singles, I lost early, I also lost to someone who played extremely well I think. I got a lot of practice in. I hope my form will come back.
Q. Do you have favorite hitting partner for training? What your favorite court?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: My favorite training partner is probably the hitting partner I have. It would make sense.
My favorite court would be probably the Tokyo Olympic center court, right? Didn't lose a match there.
Q. Humidity-wise and court-wise, it's not too different from what we have here. Between Indian Wells and Miami, do you prefer the conditions here?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Yeah. But I think the results say that for themselves, right? Indian Wells, I've never, absolutely never done well. I had one quarterfinal last year. Lost to Taylor, who won it this year.
I mean, in the big scheme of things, Indian Wells was always a tournament for me where I lose second or third round. If we're being realistic here, on the other hand, I have made the finals. Of course, when we played back at Key Biscayne, I made my first quarterfinal of a Masters ever.
This is a week for me where I have good memories. I hope I can bring those memories from Key Biscayne to this stadium. At the end of the day that's what I need right now.
