Quick Quotes
Q. Very, very well played out there. Great finish as well. Tell me about your round.
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, I hit the ball really, really well on the front nine. I hit good putts, but they didn't drop. So it was a little frustrating to turn at 1-under.
I found this week really challenging. I don't think there's one easy shot out there. (Wind noise).
With the wind, it's hard to get a feel for it. But I feel like it was a battle on the back nine. Just frustrating to try to get a good feel for it. I had a great up and down on 14. Par shot on 15. Then birdied 16.
Got a little unlucky break there on 18 being up against the wind there. Really didn't have a good shot, but it was a pure bonus that I made the putt off the green. I was just trying to give myself a good chance for par.
Overall, I'm proud of myself. Got a bit of a headache. It's just been so windy all week. It's hard not to let it get to you. When you're starting balls 25 yards either side or popping up your clubs to get it down, it's just tough.
Q. It certainly is. One hole that's played tough all week is 16, and yet you, one of the very few, had the two birdies and a par. How come you're attacking that one so well? Have you just got the feel for it?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, 16's always going to be a tough one. The first day, it was so much wind. I hit a good 5-iron about 135 yards short of the green. I hit a good 6-iron in yesterday for a 25-footer, and today got it to 12 feet with a 7-iron. It's definitely a hole that's going to be tough. With the wind out there, it's going to make it even tougher.
I'm proud of the way I tackled it this week. It's definitely challenging.
Q. On hole 18, obviously, you putted from a long way away. What made you go for that tactic rather than using another club?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Well, you really don't have much choice from there. The way the greens are running, they get pretty firm. (Wind noise.) You're just trying to get on the green and give yourself a chance for par. I obviously had really good speed. I've had good speed this week and greens are rolling pure. (Wind noise.) I was surprised to make it.
Q. As you head into tomorrow, obviously, Georgia is playing very well, a fellow Swede in your group as well. It seems like it's going to be between the two of you, almost a match play event, but how are you going to tackle that?
ANNA NORDQVIST: You never can tell. Yesterday there was a lot of low scores posted earlier. There's a lot of good players up there. Georgia is obviously in a great position, and she's going to be a tough player to beat in conditions like this. She really enjoys the wind obviously.
I think I have nothing to lose. Neither does anyone else behind me. So it's going to be challenging tomorrow. I'm sure the wind is just going to be the same.
So one more day, and I'm just going to put my best foot forward and try to finish the best I can.
