Quick Quotes
Q. Bogey-free today. In comparison today, it was much better conditions this morning.
LEE-ANNE PACE: Yeah, well, yesterday was hectic. I actually thought it was unplayable towards the end there. Ball was moving on the greens. Actually, they slowed down the greens a bit today, so I think it's going to be a bit easier in the afternoon. But I see the wind's getting up, so you never know. But we had perfect conditions.
Q. Talk me through some of the birdies you made out there.
LEE-ANNE PACE: I came close to a really, really low round today actually. I went three in a row on the back nine. Yeah, I kind of hit a really long drive on 15. I hit a gap wedge in there. I think yesterday we had a full 5-iron, which was short. So it's a complete different story.
Yeah, I birdied 13, 14, 15, but I started running nicely and got a bit of confidence. Then the back nine -- well, my back nine, the front nine, I pretty much had a chance everywhere.
Q. You always seem to start the season well, every year.
LEE-ANNE PACE: Is that so? (Laughter). I get tired later in the season.
Q. What are you expecting coming into the weekend?
LEE-ANNE PACE: Yeah, obviously I want to play well this week to prepare for next week. The next two weeks is very important to me playing at home, so it's a pride thing. To be hitting the ball like I've been hitting it today is a really good confidence booster for the next two weeks, especially Cape Town, where it's windy as well.
Yesterday I struck the ball really well as well. The wind was just crazy. Yeah, my focus is actually on the next two weeks, finishing this week as well.
