Quick Quotes

Q. The resumption today, how did you feel when you went back out there, just a little chilly for you?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It was freezing. It was really, really cold this morning. Actually by the 13th tee, it was nice -- it was a pretty nice day really. It was a nice morning. We were in the trees. You couldn't feel the wind much even though you knew it was blowing, and the sun warmed things up a little bit. But this morning was like as cold as I think I've ever played like a TOUR event for sure.

Yeah, got off to kind of a ropey start. I didn't play too badly, just like up-and-downs I made on Thursday, I didn't make a couple early ones, and then it was nice to settle down and make a couple of birdies. Yeah, not bad.

Q. Did you feel like -- seemed like you hit some good putts that just didn't go in.

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I putted fine. Like underread a couple from six, seven feet, like left to righters, and then hit decent putts really coming down the stretch, especially the one on the last was a really, really good putt that could have gone in.

I think you can build confidence off hitting decent putts and know that on another day those can go in.

The game actually felt better in certain areas today. I felt a lot more in control of my irons. I would rather shoot 66, but I would rather my long game feel better than it did on Thursday, so it's a strange game and you just take what you get on any given day.

Q. I know the conditions yesterday were calling for it but when you stand on the tee on 18 hitting an iron, have you ever hit an iron off that tee before?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Not really, no. Just makes you think about it a bit more. Like there were so many options off that last tee, and I could have -- my original shot that I saw, I saw driver originally, and then Finno was kind of -- he kind of liked an iron. I think you're going to have to hit two good shots no matter what, so I might as well hit two good shots with a 3 and a 4, and I felt comfortable hitting that low draw that could start out -- had a lot more room with a 3-iron clearly.

Like I said, it was nothing like yesterday. We didn't have wind at all. Like yesterday I played three holes in it, and it was a battle for three holes. But still like today there was enough wind to make it tough, and I think the scoring has continued to be -- nobody is short of shooting the lights out, but a couple of rounds yesterday like Bubba and J.T., they were amazing rounds of golf, they really were. Course is tough and conditions are tough, so it's a battle.

Q. It's always the luck of the draw but can you appreciate when you end up on the right side like you seem to have this time around?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, you get good draws, you get bad draws. Had my fair share of bad ones. Probably had my fair share of good ones but you never remember those, you just complain about the bad ones. Yeah, we've had it amazing for two days, we really, really have, and I consider myself very lucky. It's nice to make the most of it, as well. Like still people have missed the cut on the right side of the draw.

I'm happy that I scored really well on Thursday and then I felt like I actually played some good stuff today, which is really nice.

Great to have a good draw, great to make the most of it for two days, and tournament kind of starts again now and you just keep going.

Q. What have you done the last couple days to physically and mentally prepare for what's coming today and tomorrow?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Well, it's been nice that the players have still been here, Clare and Frankie have been here, and I hung out with them for two long days. Yesterday felt so odd when I stood on the 1st tee, 5:30 in the morning and I honestly felt like I hadn't played golf in a year. I was a little bit nervous starting out because I just felt like I haven't played for a long time, and I just played the holes nicely, like 1 and 2.

It's just been odd. I've never been part of a tournament that's had delays like this, and it's just strange how long the week feels, and it's actually not been that long. You're just still in a regular tournament day here, we're still on a Sunday, it just feels like it's been longer.

But it's been nice to have the family. I think they've definitely made a massive difference rather than waiting around on your own and not having much to do.
