THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP

March 12, 2022

Daniel Berger

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA

TPC Sawgrass

Quick Quotes

Q. How did it feel to make double eagle on 17?

DANIEL BERGER: It was nice to birdie that hole. I'm glad we didn't finish on that back nine with the cold starting to come in, but it was tough today for sure.

Q. Can you talk about the difficulty of that shot under the conditions with all the gusty winds today?

DANIEL BERGER: Yeah, at that point you're not even looking at the flag. You're just trying to put it on dry land and make a par and get out of there. That's how the day felt, just trying to make a bunch of pars.

Q. Daniel, all in all, being 4-over after five holes, the way you finished, the way things are going out there, are you as happy as you've been with that 3-over on the day?

DANIEL BERGER: Yeah, I kept myself in the golf tournament, which is big today. It could have easily gone the other direction on the front nine, but I hung in there. Today was one of the toughest rounds I ever played. Every time I looked up, the ball was going further and further and away from the flagstick. Yeah, just happy to be done and get some rest.

Q. Is it there shot that stands out where you used a club that was way -- like 40 yards of wind or something?

DANIEL BERGER: Not really. I hit it 40 yards offline quite often on the front nine. Yeah, just the conditions were tough, and everyone has to deal with that.
