Quick Quotes
Q. Nice finish to the round there. How would you characterize your play today?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, it was a great round. It was a long round, too. I had a little nap in between, also, so it was kind of nice.
Yeah, just happy the way I played and really happy the way I finished.
Q. Is it nice to be able to get this round in knowing what the guys -- who were in the late wave today probably have to go through tomorrow?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, I think it's pretty impressive that we were able to finish today, and yeah, I think it's going to be big to not wake up early tomorrow and try to rest a little bit.
I don't know, doesn't look good tomorrow, but yeah, hopefully we can play some holes tomorrow. That would be nice.
Q. How do you go about these start-and-stop kind of days? Tomorrow when you're going to be playing late, how do you go about your morning and everything like that getting ready?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Today we played nine holes in the morning and then was able to go back home. I was staying pretty close. Carlos Ortiz was there and he had not teed off yet, I think. Sebastian was there, Mito was there, we were all just chilling there and eating. I took a little nap. With Carlos talking also nonstop, I was able to sleep a little bit only.
Q. I spoke to Viktor Hovland earlier this week and he told me that the course was playing as tough as he had remembered it. How much did it change today, and how did you adjust your game?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, I think this course the rough is long. They can put the greens really firm, but unfortunately the weather is not the best to get a really tough course, firm and fast. But yeah, for how much it rained, it's playing pretty good.
Q. Can you just talk about your three birdies in a row?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, I was hitting the ball nicely, giving myself a lot of chances on the last nine holes, and I was able to finish in a good way, making good putts and hitting great shots. It was nice.
