Quick Quotes
Q. Lindsey, opening round 65 on a course you've not played before.
LINDSEY WEAVER WRIGHT: Correct.
Q. Got to be a pretty good way to feel right now.
LINDSEY WEAVER WRIGHT: I kind of this week was kind of struggling with hitting the ball a little bit. I was texting my husband yesterday, I was like, I'm hitting it so bad.
I've been working on some stuff recently so I was like I didn't know if it would really come together today so I was a little nervous, but hit the ball pretty well. Hit everything pretty close. Had a lot of tap-in birdies, which is just always nice.
So, yeah.
Q. Do you mind talking about what you were working on?
LINDSEY WEAVER WRIGHT: Yeah, so I don't like hinge as much on my backswing as I should, and just in general like hinging, I been trying to work on that a little bit.
My dad has been on me for a long time to start working on it, so that's what I been trying to work on.
But it's sort of just trying to get the timing since the club is a little further back than usual, so just trying to work on that.
Q. So you feel it came together today seemed like?
LINDSEY WEAVER WRIGHT: Yeah, I think so. I hit some good shots, yeah. I hit it close on 1 and then I chipped in on 2, so I was 2-under through 2, which is good.
Then hit it to like five feet on No. 4, so 3-under through 4, so it was kind of off and running.
Q. What were your thoughts when you first got here and saw the golf course?
LINDSEY WEAVER WRIGHT: I think this place is really nice. I didn't expect it to be so grainy, but, I mean, I live in Texas so I'm kind of used to the grain. Now that I've lived there for a while. I never used to be used to it.
So I feel like whenever there is a lot of grain and it dictates a lot of where the putts are going to go, I feel like I'm better equipped to deal with courses like that now.
So, yeah. This course is really nice and people here are so friendly. This is my first time in Thailand ever, so people here are just so nice.
I have a local caddie this week and her name is Jam and she's so sweet and positive and upbeat all the time.
And people I played with in the pro-am yesterday, they're so nice, like just really enthusiastic. It's really nice.
Q. Yeah. Good what was the caddie's name again?
LINDSEY WEAVER WRIGHT: Jam, like the jelly. She's so cute. Yeah.
