THE MODERATOR: We will to begin with opening statement for the coach. We will then take questions for the student athletes. Once they're finished, we will dismiss them back to their locker room, and then we'll finish up with comments and coach questions.
So with that, with me today, we have Coach Justin Hutson; No. 3, Isaiah Hill; No. 5, Jordan Campbell; and No. 10, Orlando Robinson.
So Coach, if you'd give us your opening statements, please.
JUSTIN HUTSON: Hats off to San Jose, first of all. I know Coach Miles. I knew he wasn't going to have his team lay down, even though they had a tough year. And hats off to them and how well they played tonight.
For us, I'm just proud of our guys. We were a step low a little bit tonight and it had something to do with San Jose and it has something to do with us. We're a little bit fatigued. But to go -- be able to go four of 23 from three, and 19 to 32 from the line and come out with a W in March, we'll take it.
THE MODERATOR: Questions for our student athletes?
Q. So for Orlando Robinson, I mean, what can you say about the San Jose State team? And then you, as well, Fresno State team, you guys played them in the regular season and you guys defeated them by quite a lot in the regular season. I mean, what was it about the San Jose State team today and your team today?
ORLANDO ROBINSON: Well, it was March and they were going to bring a fight. Every team in this conference is a good team. So San Jose just brought the fight today. It was a good match, a good bout between us.
ISAIAH HILL: Yeah, like O said, it's March. We knew they weren't going to lay down. They probably got some seniors on there, so they knew it was surviving events. And they brought the fight today, but I'm just proud of our guys and how we handled it and we came out victorious.
Q. So next up is San Diego State. You guys didn't have much luck with them during the regular seasons. I mean, what's the game plan going into tomorrow?
JUSTIN HUTSON: We got to play as well we play down there. We didn't come out with a win down there, but we -- was it double overtime?
ORLANDO ROBINSON: Yeah.
JUSTIN HUTSON: We got to play as well as we played down there, just a little bit better. And they're a tough handle. They're a tough handle. They really can guard, one of the best defensive teams in the country. They've got good players and good coaches. We'll get some rest tonight and come back and be excited to play them tomorrow.
Q. Same question for the athletes. What is your guys' game plan going into San Diego State tomorrow after double overtime last time you played them?
ISAIAH HILL: Yeah, like Coach said, I mean, we played them tough at their spot. And we plan to do the same things. And it's surviving events, once again. So we've got to go out there and give them our best punch and let the table fall where it does.
ORLANDO ROBINSON: I would say that just got to value that ball, and take care of the ball and take the pressure, because they going to bring the fight. San Diego State is tough. They play tough defensively. So we just have to take of the ball, take quality shots and just be the resilient team that we are.
THE MODERATOR: Further questions for our student athletes? Okay. That being -- okay, here we go.
Q. Jordan, what an amazing shot to end it in overtime. Was that one of the biggest shots of your career?
JORDAN CAMPBELL: Most definitely. I try not to think about that type of stuff. Just try to play the game how I see it. And the ball was in my hand, the clock winding down, and I just made the best play I could.
THE MODERATOR: Okay. Any further questions for our athletes? Okay. Thank you, gentlemen.
And now we'll proceed with questions for the coach.
Q. Are you surprised at all that games are finished this way after seeing how this league went this season?
JOE SCOTT: No, Z. And, hello. Good to see you again. Not at all. Not at all. Really good teams, really good coaches. You get into the conference tournament, everybody's zero and zero. So we expected San Jose to be good tonight. And we brought some fight to us. We just couldn't make any shots tonight. But I'm proud of our guys.
Q. And what's it like playing back-to-back-to-back overtime games? I mean, what's it like on your stress levels, on your team's fitness levels, fatigue, all that?
JOE SCOTT: I mean, to go to San Diego and then go to Wyoming and then get back, sometimes you notice as a coach if you're tired. And you say, wait a minute, I didn't play, right? And that's just part of it. Everybody has to deal with that stuff. But it's still reality.
So tomorrow I told the guys that we wanted two guys there on the bench that are going to get a chance to get a little bit more minutes. And if we see that you're ready to go, you're going to carry us. I got confidence in you, too.
THE MODERATOR: Further questions for our coach? Okay. Well, thank you.
JUSTIN HUTSON: Thank you, guys.
