Quick Quotes
Q. Curious what the emotions were like on the back nine to have a chance and all the way down to 18?
BEAU HOSSLER: I was trying to keep my head down. It's the most stressful course I've ever played. I just, I don't know if it's just me or everybody says that, but it's, every single shot it's extremely difficult on this course. The margin for error is so small that I tried to just hit one shot at a time. Hit a lot of really good ones and made some really good putts.
Q. When you say stressful, because of the wind?
BEAU HOSSLER: There's always wind, there's always wind. Even when it says there's no wind, when you get out on the cliffs there's wind. So the greens are difficult, they're some of the greens are extremely fast and exposed and it's tough.
Q. I know you hit a good drive on 18. What happened after that?
BEAU HOSSLER: I hit a 3-wood trying to make an eagle and go into a playoff and hit it in the bunker where you have absolutely no chance. The green is as firm as the cart path and it went to 40 feet and I hit it five feet by and missed it.
Q. Bunker on the right or left?
BEAU HOSSLER: In the right bunker.
Q. But you're standing on the, over that 3-wood, you gave yourself a chance, right?
BEAU HOSSLER: Yeah, I mean, what else are you going to do? It's just a hard shot if you lay it up. So, yeah, I mean, you don't get an opportunity to win on TOUR that often and when you have it you might as well take it.
Q. What kind of memories do you have from Olympic Club? It's 10 years since that experience.
BEAU HOSSLER: Yeah, it was a great week, obviously. It's a long time ago. What do you want me to say? It was an amazing week. But certainly that's the last thing on my mind, you know what I mean?
But, yeah, it's as good a tournament as I played, obviously, to that point and certainly it's a really cool experience that I'll always remember. But, yeah, it's funny, I haven't even been to Olympic since that tournament, I got to get up there and play.
Q. It's 10 years. It's hard to believe it's been that long.
BEAU HOSSLER: Sure is, yeah.
