Quick Quotes
Q. It's been quite a journey for you. How would you describe this moment now becoming a first-time winner on the LPGA?
LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, I mean, it's a bit surreal. It's been 17 years in the making, and you kind of wonder if it's ever going to happen. Just really proud of how I played all week, especially today.
Dermot was incredible on the bag. Yeah, have a lot of people to thank and it's been a long road. Probably more relief now than anything else.
Q. You had a number of close calls last season, five Top 10s. What did you learn from those experiences that helped you this week?
LEONA MAGUIRE: I think just stay really patient. I felt like I did a really good job of that this week. I knew my game was close. I did a lot of hard work in the off-season.
Yeah, finally got there in the end.
Q. With your victory you become the first player from Ireland to win on the LPGA Tour. What does that mean to you?
LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, it's huge for Irish golf. There was never an Irish player on the tour, let alone a winner. Hopefully there is a lot of people watching at home tonight with big smiles on their faces and little girls watching knowing they can do that, too.
