Quick Quotes
Q. Eagle at the finishing hole. You must be very pleased with your round.
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, very happy to be done and in. I got off to a bad start. I actually hit a perfect drive on 1 and was in like this massive rough and make a bogey from nowhere. On days when you know it's going to be really hard, you don't really want to be giving too many shots away, especially the start.
But after that, played really, really well. Scored well. Made more birdies than I thought I would do today probably. Just hit a lot of really good iron shots and gave myself chances.
It was hard all day. It was like yards to play and scrapping. Yeah, very happy to be done for the day.
Q. You had birdies on 12 and 13. We heard your caddie Ian say with your approach into 12, what a great shot it was. He was very impressed.
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: That was a good one. Out in the desert on this massive upslope. So many shots are just -- it's probably good for me in a way, the wind, because it just takes away technique and too much analysis really. You feel like you just have to feel shots and play like -- you know, create something, some clubs that make no sense at all.
I enjoy the challenge really, but it's always good when it's going well because you have like a good -- you have your eye in and stuff. When it's not going well, it can be a very hard day.
Q. Brilliant. What's it going to take tomorrow?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I don't know. We'll just go out and do the same and play the way that I played for the first three days, and we'll see if it's good enough.
