Quick Quotes
Q. Welcome Chad Pfeifer to the interview area. You played really well today. How has the rainy weather affected your play?
CHAD PFEIFER: It was -- to be honest today it probably made it better. I just went out and swung smooth and just tried to keep everything in play.
So I hit a lot of greens and was able to two-putt. Dropped -- I think I only had two birdies, but in weather like this, if you can manage big numbers and just keep everything out in front of you you'll do okay.
So...
Q. So what's the key to keeping so consistent on such a difficult course?
CHAD PFEIFER: Yeah, just like I said before, I think the first two days I got a little squirrelly with the driver. I was maybe trying to get my tee balls out there as far as I could. Today I just kept everything smooth and tried to hit fairways and hit greens.
So, yeah, that's typically -- driver is usually a strong part of my game, and like I said, the first two days I tried to overpower it. I've been putting the ball really well and getting up and down for the most part when I need to.
Q. You've been in multiple of these tournaments. What makes them so fun to be a part of?
CHAD PFEIFER: Everything. I mean, the way they organize it. This is a great course. Got it right here on the water. All the celebrities.
And really for me, the fun part is watching the LPGA girls swing. Everything is so smooth. Their playing is unbelievable. Then you get a little bit of party atmosphere and the concerts in the evening. Everything about it makes it a great tournament.
Q. How has your game grown since you started playing in these events?
CHAD PFEIFER: Yeah, you know, like I said, driver has always been a strong point for me and my rounds almost are based on how I'm putting. If I'm putting good I can shoot really low.
The last three rounds I haven't been making any big mistakes for the most part. 16 today kind of got away from me and I ended up doubling that, which is unfortunate.
But for the whole week that's been my only double, so kind of limiting the big numbers like I said before.
So I just love these kind of events. I love competition golf. I think it brings out the best in me. Just since I picked up golf I fell in love with it, especially at events like this, you just love coming to them.
Q. The celebrity division is really tight. What's it going to be like to wake up tomorrow with a chance to make a run at it?
CHAD PFEIFER: Yeah, it's always fun to be in contention. For me as a player, any time you're in contention, I think like I said, that brings out the best in you. I'm sure sometimes you don't always play great and other times you are successful.
So it'll be fun to see how they finish up and see where I am in contention up there. So, yeah see how many points I've got to make up and go from there. Just absolutely enjoy the time here.
Win or lose, I'm not getting shot at and blown up, so keep things in perspective, right?
