Q. You wanted an eagle at the end to possibly tie the course record, but just a great way to end the week in Maui.

COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah, not going to complain with an 11-under, I mean scores out here this week, obviously it was a little too late, but I needed it, I needed it just because as kind of a boost for the rest of the year.

Coming into this week I didn't really know exactly how the game was going to play out. Kind of just chugged along, put one foot in front of the other the first few days. But the game was feeling good yesterday, I just made a couple mistakes and today just came out firing and never stopped.

Q. What are the biggest things you'll take away from this week as you start this calendar year?

COLLIN MORIKAWA: I think they're just things that I was doing that I had to realize through a couple rounds here versus towards the end of last season when it was just kind of natural and there are things that are pretty easy, easy things for me to remember, but that's what happens in the off-season, you sometimes forget a couple of the things. I'll be just fine.

Q. How much does starting a calendar year in a place like this, where it is kind of casual, obviously you did your press conference in flip flops?

COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah, if you're out here at Kapalua every year you're doing something right, it means you won, and hopefully we can have a lot more years like this.

But it's a good place to start, normally we got a couple new clubs in the bag, new clubs in the bag, wide fairways, so it's normally a little more enjoyable than some other courses that are a little more penalizing.

Q. You said about the new clubs, everything performed pretty well for you this week?

COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah, it was actually really good. I did some testing really early on and it's good, especially when it gets windy, but it performed how I wanted, so probably not too many changes going forward.
