Q. Opening round 68 playing with Garrick, both of you guys went bogey-free. Talk about the vibes out there and how good a round it was?

JOEL DAHMEN: He's a super nice kid, my first time meeting him, playing with him, I think he might be around out here for a while. But we had a good time, weather is perfect, golf course is fun, pretty generous off the tees, so you have to hit two bad shots to make a bogey out here, it's mostly stress free for us and, yeah, overall it was just a really good day.

Q. Your impressions on this place, I know you had some practice rounds, but first round in competition. What do you think of it?

JOEL DAHMEN: It's awesome. It's definitely something you want to do every year. It would be nice if we could be back here for another 10 years or so.

So, yeah, we love it, family came out a week early, we fished, we did whale watching, eating all the sushi we possibly can, so it's been great.

Q. First week without green reading books, your impressions and how that's been going for you?

JOEL DAHMEN: I like it. I probably bury my head in them too much as it is. I don't use them at home and I putt okay, so there's no real reason to have them out here for me anyway.

But it's a little more work for the caddie on Tuesday and Wednesday for them to get the slopes and the grain out there, but for me it's worked out okay so far.
