Quick Quotes
Q. Bogey-free is always a good way to play; 67 today. How do you feel you played today?
AYAKA FURUE: Yeah, had a lot of chances today. I feel like that's something I should be happy for, but bogey-free, that's something that's a lot more -- I should be happy for, so I'm really satisfied with the round today.
Q. Tell me about your birdies. Were they long putts? Any you stuck close? What was the highlight of the day for you?
AYAKA FURUE: So first two birdies were very close; the two on the back was a little longer. Feel like I was able to hit and roll the putt really good.
Q. Two rounds done; a lot of golf to go; 144 holes total. How do you pace yourself over this week and next week to make sure you're playing at your best?
AYAKA FURUE: Not to expect too much on yourself. You know, just play under par. I think that's the key to play good on these kind of formats.
Q. Why do you want to play on the LPGA Tour?
AYAKA FURUE: The biggest impact was the major. Yeah, totally different atmosphere, and it was a great excitement to play on a major, which kind of made me want to play outside Japan.
Q. So you played well at Evian, correct?
AYAKA FURUE: (No oral response.)
Q. That experience was different. What made it different?
AYAKA FURUE: It was definitely special, but it was more fun. It was really fun to play that week at Evian and was more relaxed than Japan, so I think that was something special for me.
Q. I hope you had a ham and cheese baguette in Evian. They're my favorite. Every day for lunch. (Laughter.) Overall, what did you come in this week hoping to accomplish?
AYAKA FURUE: Yeah, so first of all, you know, not to expect too much of myself. Play as usual, like myself, and if I can do that, result will come afterwards.
So that was my first goal, to play as usual.
