THE MODERATOR: Can you describe a little bit what happened in the singles match with the change of control, such an easy win in the end.

ALEXANDER BUBLIK: Well, I think that's what tennis is all about. You got to try to play until the very last moment. If you have a chance, just try to get it and realize it. That's what I did.

I was lucky that the match turned my way.

Q. A really strong record in Davis Cup. What is it about this competition that brings out the best in you?

ALEXANDER BUBLIK: Well, I take Davis Cup more seriously than singles tour because I'm not only playing for myself, but I play for the country, for the fans, and it's extra. That's why I think so far my record is okay.

I hope to continue with the performance I have here.

Q. When you say that you take it more seriously, how does that manifest itself? Is that just on the match court or the whole week as well?

ALEXANDER BUBLIK: Well, I think it's a bit of everything. Just as I say, just take it from the beginning of a practice camp till the last match we're going to play here. I just try to take seriously.

When I play an ATP, it's only me and I can do whatever I want. If I don't want to play, I can just leave the court. Here I'm playing for much more. I try to keep it real, keep it serious.

Q. You said you had to hang in the match and things can turn. If you had to pinpoint one aspect that helped you turn that, what would you say?

ALEXANDER BUBLIK: I mean, I was good holding my serve since I lost the first break, the very first service game. I think he might get a little bit tight serving down 4-5. I change a little bit the pace on the return, made some good forehands, good dropshot. I think it helped.

Q. I'm sure you didn't expect a 6-Love final set.

ALEXANDER BUBLIK: Definitely not. But, I mean, I'm happy with the way it ended.
