THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. Frank, the decision making for the first singles match, picking Steven, was there an issue with Brayden's health?
FRANK DANCEVIC: I mean, I think honestly he was playing really well all week. He was playing really high-quality tennis. He looked really sharp going in. Brayden, as well, he wasn't feeling great two days before. I mean, it was a little bit of everything.
The guy was playing well. I thought he deserved to play the first match.
Q. Vasek, your retirement with the back at Indian Wells, only two matches, do you feel you were a bit ill-prepared coming in?
VASEK POSPISIL: A little bit what, sorry?
Q. Not quite prepared because you hadn't had many matches.
VASEK POSPISIL: No, I wouldn't say that I was not prepared. I mean, I'm not maybe playing as sharp. I think today I didn't play badly, but my opponent played well. I didn't play as well as I could have. I mean, that was it, right?
On any given day you can play up to your standards or above them or a little bit below. Today I played a guy that was playing really well. I just maybe didn't execute the way that I'd like to.
But I feel fine out there.
