Quick Quotes
Q. Two solid days' work?
SAM HORSFIELD: Yeah, it was nice. I feel like I've been playing pretty well and I just haven't been scoring great. You know, today I think I made five in a row, and it was really nice to see some putts drop there. I had a little wobble, 16 and 17, but it was really, really nice to birdie 18.
Q. Those five in a row, obviously massively important to give you momentum for the back nine because this course can bite you back at times, can't it?
SAM HORSFIELD: Yeah, there's quite a few tricky holes out here, and to give myself a bit of a buffer there was nice. I felt like I played really solid all day and gave myself a bunch of opportunities. Yeah, I was able to capitalise.
Q. And nice to finish off with the after the two bogeys on 16 and 17?
SAM HORSFIELD: Yeah, that was the biggest one of the day to be honest with you. Laid up off the tee, played it smart and had 131 in, and hit a great wedge to like six, eight fee and it was really nice to make that one, make dinner taste a little bit better.
Q. You're a two-time winner on The European Tour, and when you come to an event where the top 150 players are playing, do you have a sense of belonging when you come to these type of events?
SAM HORSFIELD: Yeah, I definitely don't feel like I'm out of place or do not belong here, and obviously I feel like my game is really good. Yeah, looking forward to the weekend.
Q. Obviously you can't win the tournament over the first two days but you put yourself in great position heading into the weekend. What will be the mindset when you head out there on moving day tomorrow?
SAM HORSFIELD: Just pretty much the same stuff. I've definitely given myself a lot of opportunities the last two days and I just want to continue to do the same thing. I didn't putt overly great today. Missed a few on the back nine there, but definitely get the momentum rolling.
