THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.

Q. Tough luck today. I wanted to ask you, was it tricky not knowing until late in the day which player you were going to play? Can you tell us about when you found out and how tricky that part was for you?

HUBERT HURKACZ: Actually, I found out like in the middle of my warmup. You know, I knew Matteo of course pulled out of his singles match in the beginning of the second set, so I knew there would be a chance. So I was kind of preparing for both of the players.

Q. Was that difficult?

HUBERT HURKACZ: Well, it turned out a bit difficult.

Q. Obviously you know him really well, you guys get along great, you have played each other. What do you think really made the difference today?

HUBERT HURKACZ: Well, I mean, didn't win many games, so definitely that. I mean, had my opportunities. Didn't convert them.

Yeah, I mean, he was playing well today, so, you know, all the credit to him.

Q. I would like to know which kind of difficulty you found out in the long rallies, because it was kind of similar what happened in Miami but the way it was for you today was for Jannik, and I guess also about the difference you faced.

HUBERT HURKACZ: Yeah, I mean, definitely was quicker today. I mean, Jannik was playing great tennis today. Congrats to him for that.

I mean, he played really well in important moments, and, you know, sometimes you just don't convert the chances that you have.

Q. Of course I have to ask you about the crowd, because, I mean, before the tournament, you think it wouldn't be that much hard to play against an Italian, but I think today was something different and unusual for you. I don't know.

HUBERT HURKACZ: No, I mean, the crowd was nice. I mean, crowd was supporting Jannik. I got some support, as well. Thank you that the Polish people that came.

I mean, the Italian people were supporting for him, of course more for Jannik, but the atmosphere was great on the court.
