Q. Lexi, really solid start to the week, 5-under 65. Take us through some of the highlights.

LEXI THOMPSON: Thanks, yeah. I shot a few under on my first fine nine and had a strong back nine. Just tried to focus on doing my routine and sticking to the game plan coming into the week, which was play aggressive golf and just commit to my golf shots out there.

Overall i just had a great day. We had a lot of fans out there watching us, so it's always nice to see.

Q. What was the key for your game today? I mean, obviously the greens have kind of been tricky. Was it putting? Was it wedge shots? What was working for you?

LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, I definitely felt good with my putter, but just playing aggressive, going for the few pins that you could. There are a few longer holes out there, but at the same time, there is a lot of shorter holes as well.

So taking advantage of those and getting pars on the harder ones is key.

Q. A lot on your mind this week I'm sure going into next week. How do you keep yourself focused on what you've got at hand?

LEXI THOMPSON: Sorry, with?

Q. Just like with CME next week, end of the year; how do you keep yourself in the moment?

LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, I mean, overall this is an amazing an event. It was the first year last year for this event, and I think we all enjoyed it. Myself being a South Florida girl I can drive to this one, so it's always nice. And the course is always in good shape for us, so we really look forward this one.

Yeah, it's a big week next week, but no different mindset. I go to every tournament wanting to win. I'm sure a lot of girls do. Just going to go out there and just do my best and stay in the moment.

Q. Being a South Florida girl do you feel like you have a little bit of a hometown advantage with the fans back?

LEXI THOMPSON: I don't know about hometown advantage. Of course it's just nice to see fans in general out here supporting us.

But it's just great to see. I think women's golf is growing dramatically, and it's great to see the crowds that we get out here for a Thursday, and hopefully just get bigger.

Q. Positives are you taking away from today into the rest of the week?

LEXI THOMPSON: I think overall just how I stay positive out there. You know, I hit a few iffy shots that could have got down on myself. Staying in the moment, just stay positive, knowing that I'm hitting it well and I'm stroking it well.

So taking it one shot at a time and not getting ahead of myself.
