Quick Quotes
Q. Kelsey, you had a 5-under par here, 8-under total in the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific. You must be very happy.
KELSEY BENNETT: Yes, very happy.
Q. Now talk to us about that 5-under round. Any moments that stand out as highlights?
KELSEY BENNETT: Mostly the back nine. I was struggling on the front nine. Putting just didn't feel quite right, but I got the hang of it on the back nine. I birdied 10, and it just sort of started me off. Hit a few close wedges, which were handy.
Q. Is that something you've been working on over the last couple of days, or it all just clicked today?
KELSEY BENNETT: Yeah, mostly just clicked today, but I did mention to my coach that 50 to 70-metre shots I needed to improve on. I did some practice yesterday afternoon, and it has helped.
Q. Who's your coach?
KELSEY BENNETT: John Serhan, St. Michael's in Sydney.
Q. What was he saying? Is there any tip that he gave you that helped with today?
KELSEY BENNETT: He mentioned to just go out and not think about it too much. Just hit a couple from that distance and just get more of a feel rather than anything else.
Q. You are very nicely positioned heading into the next two days. What's the game plan from here?
KELSEY BENNETT: Same as what I've been doing. I'm not going to overthink it. Stick to my processes and keep my practice routine the exact same.
Q. There's obviously a couple of very big prizes on offer for the champion of this event. Is it hard to stay in the moment when they're sitting there dangling in front of you?
KELSEY BENNETT: Sort of. This is my first major amateur event, so I haven't really thought about it too much which is obviously a good thing. So I'll keep it that way.
