Quick Quotes
Q. Ashley, thank you so much for joining us. 3-under to begin your Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific campaign. Are you happy with your performance?
ASHLEY LAU: You know, I can't complain, a 3-under. I definitely hit shots that were not as great, but they were good enough for me to make birdies out there.
Q. Talking about those birdies, what holes did they come out?
ASHLEY LAU: 7, 8, 12, and 16.
Q. Very good. If you had to pick one that was the key highlight of the day, which would it be?
ASHLEY LAU: I would say 12 just because the pins tuck at the back and I wasn't really expecting to make a birdie. Par would be good enough, but I made a birdie.
Q. Can you talk us through that hole and the shots that you took.
ASHLEY LAU: 7-iron into the green about 22 feet away and hit it in the centre of the cup.
Q. Very nice. Now, you said that not everything was going your way today, but you still must be very confident that, not having your best, you can put in a 3-under performance.
ASHLEY LAU: Throughout the last two days, I was hitting it great on the course, but today hitting wasn't my, I would say, A game. It was probably like a B game. But putting definitely saved me out there.
Q. Was there anything going wrong? Can you pinpoint exactly what was not quite right?
ASHLEY LAU: I would say it wasn't going where I wanted it to go.
Q. So will you work on anything this afternoon to try and get that right for tomorrow?
ASHLEY LAU: Probably hitting balls at the range and just putt a little bit. Trying to get more comfortable on the course tomorrow and the weekend.
Q. 3-under, you must be feeling confident heading into the rest of the championship?
ASHLEY LAU: I would say yes, but the main goal is to just have fun. You don't get a lot of chances to play golf in Abu Dhabi.
