Quick Quotes
Q. Rianne, thank you so much for joining us. You just finished the first round of the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific. 2-under today. Are you happy with your performance?
RIANNE MALIXI: There's still a lot of room for improvement. I didn't think I holed some putts today. I only missed three greens today, so I think putting is holding me back a bit today. Hopefully I'll do better tomorrow.
Q. Will you go and work on your putting this afternoon at all?
RIANNE MALIXI: Yes. I will go on the range first before I go to putt.
Q. With the putting, what's going wrong there for you?
RIANNE MALIXI: I usually start my putts left, so maybe I would work on my lines.
Q. Despite not feeling that you had your best putting performance, still a really nice round and you're right up there in the mix. You must be feeling very confident heading into the rest of the championship?
RIANNE MALIXI: Well, a bit, yes. Hopefully I still do better tomorrow.
Q. You're from the Philippines, and I believe that you are good friends with Yuka Saso?
RIANNE MALIXI: We're not really close, but I used to play with her when I was 11 to 12.
Q. She made it to a playoff here at the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific, and of course she's now a major champion. Is she a player that you admire and who inspires you?
RIANNE MALIXI: Yes, definitely. Right before she won when she was an amateur, I admired her. She was such a great player. Outside the golf course also, she's really, really nice.
