Press Conference
D. KOEPFER/F. Auger-Aliassime
6-3, 7-5
THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.
Q. (Question about medical timeout.)
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Yeah, I wanted to release some tension in my form. I don't know how much it affected my game, but, yeah, wasn't feeling great. I thought I would try to do something about it.
THE MODERATOR: Questions in French.
Q. The same question. You called the medical timeout. What was it? Shoulder? Forearm?
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: It was just tension, not an injury. Tension in my forearm. I was feeling it a bit, so I said there's nothing to lose in trying to release the tension. But it was nothing serious. I don't think it affected greatly my game.
Q. Regarding your game today, how do you qualify your match with respect against Dominik Koepfer?
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: My game level was low. I served badly from the beginning to the end. I tried but was very low level, so I'm really disappointed.
Q. Of course you're disappointed. We feel you are even bothered by your game level. But were you able to identify the problem? What is the state of mind with which you will leave Paris?
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: It's not really complicated to identify. I served very poorly. I don't know how many double faults. Well, he played very well. But I fought against myself at some times. So it's not a great lesson to draw or nothing great to interpret to understand what didn't go well today.
So I leave here disappointed. I was motivated to have a good week here, so of course I'm greatly disappointed.
Q. Will you play Stockholm or do you think you'll have a break?
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: I don't know. I'm undecided yet. I just went off the court one hour ago, so I'll take the time to decide what I will do afterwards.
Q. Is it a match to be forgotten?
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Well, I have to understand what to do to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Q. One word regarding your opponent. We don't know him very well. What does he do well? Why is he bothering? What are his main strengths?
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Well, he's left-handed, he serves well, like many players today, he's got a good backhand, crosscourt backhand, and I saw him in the past playing good matches. He's always able to play well, as everyone on the tour. Now today I really played poor level.
