ROLEX PARIS MASTERS

November 4, 2021

Cameron Norrie

Paris, France

Press Conference

T. FRITZ/C. Norrie

6-3, 7-6

THE MODERATOR: A tough match today. What are your thoughts on the match against Taylor? What's next?

CAMERON NORRIE: Yeah, Taylor was too good today. Really big moments he served well, came up with big shots, played aggressive, he was moving extremely well. Last time I played him, he's moving a lot better. All credit to him. He played a very clean match and was very consistent throughout the whole match, so it was too good.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. I suppose the obvious question is: Do you feel that maybe now in terms of the qualification race, do you think you could still sneak in?

CAMERON NORRIE: I think it still depends on some of the other results. I think Huby tomorrow and Casper today. It's looking unlikely, I guess. I haven't done the math or anything, but I think they were ahead of me already and for them to still be in the tournament it looks difficult.

So we'll see how it goes during the next couple of days, and see how it ends up, the ranking and the race.

Q. I think by our calculations that you have to win Stockholm to have any chance and also for Hurkacz to lose tomorrow. Given that that's quite a tough scenario, I'm just wondering what your plans would be over the next few weeks, bearing in mind Davis Cup and stuff.

CAMERON NORRIE: Yeah, that sounds difficult. I gave it my best shot. I mean, it was unfortunate Taylor was too good today.

Yeah, I'll have to think, but I'm going to go to Turin anyway, I think there are two alternate spots, depends on how everything turns out, but I will be an alternate there and then I will go and get prepared and get ready for Davis Cup after that, go to Innsbruck.

Q. Will you definitely play Stockholm next week, even if you can't qualify for Turin? Also, do you have holiday plans after the Davis Cup? Do you think it's important to, if not go away somewhere but to give yourself a complete break from the sport if you can afford the time for a while?

CAMERON NORRIE: Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm going to play Stockholm yet. I'm not sure, just depends on a lot of results now. It's a tough one, but we'll see what happens the next -- probably tomorrow, I guess I will know if I'm going or not.

Look, it's been a great season so far, and I have really enjoyed the runs that I have had and the tournaments that I have played.

In terms of holiday, it just doesn't look likely. There is not much time. I mean, we've got Davis Cup, and after that I mean, I will shut it down for a week, but, I mean, I have to get back on the horse and back training again, especially will be a very short preseason for me, especially with Davis Cup. So I'm going to have to manage it well.

But it's definitely going to be important to relax and take a bit of time off tennis. But it's not going to be long, and I haven't planned anything yet. We'll see. But I'm really happy with how the year has gone so far, and I really enjoyed all my tennis and everything.
