Q. Alex, after playing with Carlos for so long, have you thought about the possibility that could have been your last game with him?
ALEX BREGMAN: Yeah, just now. Obviously, we were planning on being able to play again tomorrow. So I didn't really think of anything to say about it, but after the game, just thanked him for leading this team and being able to play with him for the last six years has been special.
He's one of the smartest baseball players in the world, and he's one of the hardest working. He eats, sleeps, and breathes the game. It's been honestly amazing to play with him. I really hope we can sign him back because I think we've got a good shot at continuing to do this for a long time if we do.
Q. Alex, the Astros is such a home run hitting team. Were you surprised at all about the lack of power in the World Series, or is that more of a testament to the Braves pitching?
ALEX BREGMAN: I think both. First off, you've got to give a ton of credit to them. They were unbelievable. They pitched really well. They swung the bats, played good D. You've got to give a lot of credit to them.
Yeah, we normally do hit a little bit more for power, and we didn't. But you learn and move on. You use it as fuel during the off-season to get better and learn from it.
Q. Looking back on it, how much do you think the first inning, you guys have runners on first and second, a chance to start the game in a good way, kind of led -- not led to what happened, but had a big effect on what happened?
ALEX BREGMAN: I don't know. I thought it was great that we had traffic on the base paths, but I just think we didn't do enough all night. In these kind of games, you need traffic in almost every inning because during the postseason, when you have people on the base paths, it puts pressure on the other team, and the momentum starts to go your way. We didn't have enough people on base tonight to really do that.
Q. How healthy did you feel throughout this postseason? Were you playing up to kind of your full health, or were there some just nagging stuff that was still coming back from that hamstring you had?
ALEX BREGMAN: Honestly, I felt good enough to play and didn't get the job done. We'll get everything fixed and come into camp ready to go. It's a super important off-season to get fully healthy and get ready to play 162.
You know, it felt kind of like it wasn't there for a lot of it. Obviously take responsibility for that. You obviously take pride in being healthy and being there for a full season, and I wasn't able to do that for the last two years.
This off-season will be key for getting healthy and being able to play a full season healthy and into the postseason as well.
Q. Alex, first year back with the fans in the stands. Is there anything you want to say to them?
ALEX BREGMAN: It was great to have the fans back in the stands. We love playing in front of them. We love our fans here in Houston. They were amazing for us all year long. We're sorry we didn't get it done for them. They motivate us, and they drive us to be better each year. We'll learn from this and get better for next year.
