Q. What do you think about your fans? Like there are so many fans who are chatting your name, and you also scored a very important 31, which resulted in a win. So what do you make of your game today?
ASGHAR AFGHAN: Definitely so. When I resigned last night, I announced my retirement last night. So I received a lot of messages from my fans and colleagues how they were unhappy. It's a very hard decision when you get to retirement, but I decided for my youngsters they should come. It was too important, and they should come and feel the pressure of the World Cup.
I know all my fans support me a lot, and I'm very thankful for all my fans.
Q. Can you just tell us a bit about, obviously today retiring, but what is probably your most momentous achievement playing for Afghanistan?
ASGHAR AFGHAN: From the day I started cricket, I play for my nation and my country. I feel proud and didn't feel down, and I was happy to play for my nation and country. And all the supporters who support me, I take strength from them. Through the struggle and the time we were struggling in cricket, only cricket in Afghanistan was a live thing so we could work on that.
When there was play, Afghanistan was playing against any country, so there is one nation. And the nation was just praying on working up the cricket. So we work for the unity and all these things in Afghanistan as well.
Q. One question on the young talent of Afghanistan cricket. Do you feel, being an experienced cricketer, that Afghanistan cricket is in safe hands?
ASGHAR AFGHAN: To be honest, trust me, Afghanistan cricket is in very safe hands, and cricket will improve definitely. For all the supporters from the last few years and the newcomers that are supporting us, I believe that Afghanistan cricket will improve more day by day, and trust me that will show.
