Q. Could you have believed a year ago, even six months ago, you'd be starting a game in the World Series? What's this moment like for you?
JOSE SIRI: No, not really. I was just down in Triple-A and found time to work on my swing to be able to get to the Big Leagues, and now here we are in the World Series. So I'm just grateful for that.
Q. (In Spanish.)
JOSE SIRI: Yeah, it means a lot, this game. Just like the last series in Boston, we won the first one, and they took the second one, and then we went to Boston tied. So we have an opportunity to have the same kind of mentality and the same goals heading back to Atlanta if we win today, it's the same situation. So we have to give the best of ourselves today to do what we can to win.
Q. (In Spanish.)
JOSE SIRI: I have a really good relationship with Urquidy. We're always hanging out just chatting about little things. What I'm expecting of him, I think he's going to do the job. I think he's the guy for the job, and I think, God willing, he'll have a lot of success tonight, and he's the one to get it done for us.
Q. Jose, when you signed with the Astros, what did they tell you about your offensive approach and your swing, and what kind of adjustments did they help you make in Triple-A?
JOSE SIRI: Yeah, for me, I think ballplayers always have something to work on. What they mostly tell me is just I need to be a little bit better control in the zone. So thank God I was able to work on that and be a little bit more patient at the plate and be able to select my pitches a little bit better.
When they signed me, I knew I was going to Triple-A, but I knew I had the opportunity to have a fresh start there.
Q. (In Spanish.)
JOSE SIRI: I get along really well with all the guys. I think all the guys have a lot of love for me -- Yuli, Correa, Bregman, Diaz, Yordan. They're always giving me little pieces of advice that I pay attention to just about what I need to do to make things work and to get the best result.
Q. (In Spanish.)
JOSE SIRI: Yeah, it's really important thing for me to be in the World Series, something that a lot of kids dream about and something that I always dreamed of as well, just watching it as a kid from home. I'm just thinking about what it would mean to be a ballplayer in this series, and look at me now, here I am. So it's really important for me.
As far as winning the games today, they won yesterday. That's fine. It doesn't stop us from being able to win today and being able to equal the series. So we'll just have to give 100 percent out there today, and whatever God's plan is what will play out.
Q. We talked the other day about how your energy and excitement is always on level 100, like your necklace. I wonder, now that you're going to be in the World Series, what's the level at today?
JOSE SIRI: 200 (laughter).
Q. Obviously, your mind is on Game 2 of the World Series, but the Dominican League starts tonight, and I was wondering if you've seen any social media posts or news or gotten any messages from back home and, if so, what they've been.
JOSE SIRI: Yeah, I saw it on Instagram that it was starting today. I think a lot of teams have groups on WhatsApp just to exchange messages about it. So I sent a message to the guys just wishing them a lot of luck and told them that I'd be joining them soon.
