Pit Road
An Interview with:
Q. Well, it was a good day for Chevrolet in Victory Lane. Looked for a while like it could be Kurt Busch. Was that car as strong as it looked to us?
KURT BUSCH: We did everything right. We just didn't combo it all at the perfect time. Restarts were here. Pit road was awesome. Matt, all my guys were sticking together this late in the year with switching over. Thanks to Advent Health. Wanted to give them a good run and we were there. We did all of this right.
It was so much fun right in the mix, and there are little things that make big differences. We even freed it up on that last run and got too tight.
When you're running with the big dogs you've got to do everything right. And thanks to Chevy, Hendrick power. That was a big deal today. Our guys at Ganassi we'll keep chipping away.
Q. At the restarts you were there. You seemed to choose the right lines and the right passes.
KURT BUSCH: I appreciate that. I felt like I chose wrong every time. The car was a little loose to start and I couldn't be as aggressive and I wanted to be. Our car would really come alive after 25 laps.
You've got to combo it all right. Maybe I asked for a little bit too much for restart speed versus long run speed. It's all a good day when you're top five.
