Quick Quotes
Q. Solid 6 under 66 to round out the week. Take us through some of your highlights.
ALEXA PANO: 5-under, I think. I think I have it in wrong, so...
Q. All good. Solid round in the week regardless.
ALEXA PANO: Yeah.
Q. Take us through some of your highlights out there.
ALEXA PANO: I played pretty solid the whole day. I had one bogey which was a three-putt, but I think I hit 17 greens and was giving myself so many opportunities the whole week, and then on this back nine a bunch of them started to go in. So that was really good.
I think I kind of started playing a lot better on the front nine when my dad talked me into going for the par-5 in two, No. 16, I think. I put that to like 20 feet and made birdie, and that kind of switched my momentum into a better round. Yeah.
Q. Obviously unable to advance to Q Series with the age requirements, but still a solid week. What does this kind of performance prove to you?
ALEXA PANO: Yeah, I was really happy with my performance this week. I mean, it's the best I've played in little while. I haven't been feeling the best this week and have a little bit of a muscle strain going on, so I was really happy to push through that the past two days.
Yeah, a lot of good progress, and should give me a lot of confidence going forward.
Q. Wrist, I take it?
ALEXA PANO: No, leg. I don't even know how it happened. I finished my second round and like afterwards it just felt horrible. Yesterday I was like concerned about playing.
But it turned out okay, so I'm all right.
Q. Couple months left in 2021. I think everybody is curious what you're going to do in 2022. Are you planning to turn professional? What is the game plan for 2022?
ALEXA PANO: I think right now my game plan is still amateur. Obviously I wanted to get some Symetra status from this week and get to experience that, but right now I'm still taking it day by day and figuring out.
Got a little bit of time off until my next event, so just looking forward to that.
Q. Where are you playing next?
ALEXA PANO: I'll be in the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions in Thanksgiving, so, yeah.
Q. Bogey-free on the front nine. What went right during your process?
ALEXA PANO: Yeah, like I said, I've been giving myself a ton of opportunities, but finally got some of those to go in. I hit a lot of greens today, but struggling with my driver was kind of a problem yesterday, so today hitting fairways and greens made it a lot easier to minimize mistakes and really go low on that nine.
Q. Coming in the whole week obviously this was a lot of practice for you, but like you said, some of the best you played in a while.
ALEXA PANO: Yeah.
Q. When you take the entire year into account and going into the short-term, what do you think this will mean for you?
ALEXA PANO: Yeah, I think it's a lot of confidence just because this is such a good field. And, yeah, I play against a lot of these girls often, too, and to put up some good numbers and good finish, it should give me a lot of confidence going into 2022.
So, yeah, I'm excited for the rest of the events and year.
Q. How much are you looking forward to playing on Symetra next year?
ALEXA PANO: I'm really looking forward to it. I really wanted to get some status out of this, but hopefully I'll have a good amount after this. I think is should be fun. I've played on sponsor's exemptions and felt really good about how I played out there.
So to be able to have that status and know I'm going to have more events than just sponsor's exemptions is a lot. Going week to week is something I'm really looking forward to.
