LPGA International Busan
Press Conference
Q. A superb start today with those three birdies through your first four holes. What was working so well there? And just take us through the beginning of your round.
IN GEE CHUN: I thought I could make good focus, but luckily it was to the hole. So I started with two birdies, and then it was great moment. It's going through really well. So that's how I made a good focus on another 16 holes.
Q. What do you think was working well in the beginning of your round there? Those birdie putts you had on 1, 2 and 4, were they short, or was it just superb iron play?
IN GEE CHUN: I think I can play better with the pressure. When I'm playing a tournament in Korea, it's always more pressure. But I think I really enjoyed. That's how I made a good reserve last two days.
Q. I know in the afternoon there were those birdies and bogeys that we saw, but still, to be up there in contention, how do you feel heading into the weekend?
IN GEE CHUN: I missed two short putts. I always try to make bogey-free round. That's my goal. So next two days I'm trying to make bogey-free round again and trying to make birdie as much as I can.
And I really want to put my name on top. So just trying to make a round and trying to make a focus and prepare next two days.
Q. When you talk about missing the two short putts, was that on the two bogeys?
IN GEE CHUN: Yes, yes.
Q. And for you, just when you're playing well at a course like LPGA International Busan, in 2019 you finished in a tie for 4th. Do you ever think of those memories from 2019 when you're out there and you feel the momentum and you feel those putts start dropping?
IN GEE CHUN: Actually, it helped a lot because I had a good memory here. So it make me feel more confidence on the course because I had great memory and great reserve.
But golf is always feel different. So I really want to try to make another this year, but always happy to be back in Busan and to play golf here and to see the many golf fans out there.
Unfortunately we don't have fans out there because of COVID, but still just really happy to play in Korea.
Q. What will you focus on heading into the next two days? I know it's always your goal to have a bogey-free round, but what will be the key to that bogey-free round tomorrow?
IN GEE CHUN: It's really hard to make bogey-free round. So I think when we have a bogey-free round, we need everything -- good shots and good stroke game around green and good game plan, good mental. So I hopefully make all go in through will.
