LPGA International Busan
Quick Quotes
Q. Got off to a hot start today with those four consecutive birdies. What was going so well there?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: I don't know. I holed a few long putts on the first few holes. Almost holed one 5-iron on -- I think it was on 5. So that was a tap-in birdie. And another solid birdie from about two and a half meters.
Yeah, it was nice to start that way.
Q. After that, how would you evaluate the rest of your round there and just your overall day here at LPGA International Busan?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: I think I played very solid. Around the turn, I was struggling a bit with like getting my irons close to the pin.
But, yeah, birdied the par-5s, and then hit two kind of annoying bogeys because it was two pretty easy chips which I didn't get close to the hole. But then bounced back nicely with two more birdies. And then didn't make up-and-down on the last.
But overall it was a pretty good day, and I'm pretty happy with my putting. I think that was the strongest part of my game today. And I've been struggling a lot with that over the last few weeks. So it's good to see.
Q. So is this your first time in Korea?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: It is my first time, yeah.
Q. What are your initial thoughts of not only this course but being able to play in Korea at the only LPGA Tour event?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: I think it's great. We have so many players from Korea on the Tour. So it's great to see kind of where they come from.
And, yeah, I think the course is nice. The weather could be better, but it does feel a bit like Germany. So maybe that's helping, too, I think although it's still warmer here.
So, yeah, I think it's quite cool. I really enjoy it. Of course it's sad that we don't have any fans out here, but I hope that next year we will be back.
Q. What will you take away from your first round today heading into the next couple of days?
ESTHER HENSELEIT: I think that you can play many birdies out here. But it's very good course. You can score low. And I tried to work a bit on my irons and my chipping this afternoon, and I hope I can continue playing well over the next few days.
