Postgame 4 Press Conference
Atlanta Braves - 9, Los Angeles Dodgers - 2
Q. They hit the three home runs off your four-seamer today and then you shifted away from it afterward. What was it about that pitch that was different today?
JULIO URÍAS: Yeah, we had a plan going into the game. Obviously they made their adjustments. They hit the ball when I made those pitches. That Rosario home run in particular, I didn't think it was going to go out of the stadium and when it did it was just one of those things that happened. It was part of their day, it was their day.
Q. Do you feel you were affected by pitching in relief a couple days ago?
JULIO URÍAS: No, I felt good. I felt good physically. I just have to give them credit for what they did today.
Q. (Question in Spanish.)
JULIO URÍAS: We talked about it. Those discussions were ongoing. It wasn't something that we just kind of decided overnight. It was just something that we talked about. I felt good. I felt like I gave it 100 percent of everything I could do and it just didn't work out.
Q. (Question in Spanish.)
JULIO URÍAS: We talked about it every day. We had those discussions ongoing. Obviously they always checked in on my health and how I felt and every day I told them exactly how it went and just kind of, it just didn't work out.
Q. Just what can you say about, what do you think allowed the Braves to really get some of those swings off of you? What do you think maybe wasn't working or what, I guess, would you kind of attribute to their success?
JULIO URÍAS: Yeah, they're a good team, like I said previously. They're a good team. They were tough to beat last year. They made those adjustments throughout the game. Some of those pitches I thought were a little bit better than the results showed, but just kind of, it's just part of baseball, it's just what happens.
Q. You guys were in this position last year, down 3-1. How did last year's learning prepare you guys now for what the rest of the series could look like?
JULIO URÍAS: Yeah, last year we did it, not to lower our heads, not to feel bad about ourselves. Obviously they're playing with a lot of confidence, but we have to come out tomorrow and play a game. We have another game tomorrow. We have a great team here and we have a great opportunity to do something special.
Q. What did you know about Eddie Rosario? Have you faced him before and were you at all surprised at what he did tonight?
JULIO URÍAS: Yeah, I didn't face him a lot up until this year. Obviously this year I got to see him a little bit more and he's just a hot hitter, a good player. He made those adjustments today and he was just making the contact. Even on that double, or that triple he kind of smiled at me after he hit it in there just because it was one of those things where it just, a hot hitter and he kind of knows where he's going. Hopefully tomorrow our guys are able to make those adjustments and get him out.
