Quick Quotes
Q. So I wanted to ask you, obviously you were exempt into Stage II because of your placement in the Golf Week rankings.
PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: Uh-huh.
Q. How much of a relief is it to come out of college? Obviously you started your pro career and had a pretty good start to far, but to be able to come in and have a chance of qualifying so early on.
PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: I mean, it's great because I turned pro in August and so now I have full status on the LET, and it's just bonus to be here and have that opportunity to just play Stage II and for status on the Symetra Tour, and then if everything goes right then more in the Q Series at the end of the year.
So it's just great to have that opportunity and it's just bonus. So that's great.
Q. For you and a lot of college stars, Linn Grant, Maya Stark, having that ability to kind of come out and start your pro career so quickly. Did you ever expect to have this opportunity? Was that something you thought you were going to be able to do?
PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: I mean, I went to college with that in mind as preparation for professional golf and professional life, and so I knew it was going to be quick, like it was going to be either this year or January of next year, whether or not I was done with college.
Obviously I'm still in college, still in class, all of that, but then my coach in college told me that if I wanted to I could turn pro if it would allow me to have a better preparation for Q-School and have different tournaments as professional, if it would help.
So she gave me that opportunity, and obviously I'm very grateful for that. And so, yeah, it's just -- I just kept going the way I was doing things, because, I mean, with the goal of being professional and being in on the LPGA and have that in mind.
So it wasn't that big of a step.
Q. Which is awesome. You've played pretty well so far.
PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: Uh-huh.
Q. How would you assess your first few months as a professional?
PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: It was exciting. It's an exciting life. I love it. I like the balance that I have between school, golf, and, I mean, it's just I like the people I have around when I travel. I was with Maya last week during New York. We were rooming together. It was just great.
I had a caddie on the bag last week who showed me how to enjoy your life as a professional. It was just -- I'm just super happy. I'm a happy person right now. It's just, you know, all about happiness and having fun, even if it became a job.
I think we have a pretty nice office. Sometimes it's just like take time to see that and realize that.
So, yeah.
Q. With your exemption into this week, what are your expectations coming into the week and what are you feeling ahead of the second stage of Q-School?
PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: I mean, I'll just -- as Rory was saying when he was interviewed that went pretty viral, Just be me. And I think it's something that's very important for me. Just being me, stick to my process, and then it'll do the rest.
So just focus on this routine and process and just being me.
