Press Conference
A. ZVEREV/A. Murray
6-4, 7-6
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. You finally got your quadruple: your first win over Andy, and the fact you have wins over the 'big four'.
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Great, I'm happy about today. I'm happy about the match. I'm happy about how everything went. I think it was a very entertaining match. It was pretty high level as well. I'm obviously happy to be through.
Q. The government of Australia is strongly encouraging players to get vaccinated if they want to play, suggesting unvaccinated players will have to quarantine. Will you play the Australian Open under those conditions?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: I mean, I don't know why I shouldn't. This is a very tricky question because I know that a lot of players are discussing it. I don't want to go against Tennis Australia, I don't want to go against some players that are not vaccinated.
I understand. I fully respect the decisions of players that are not vaccinated. I also do respect the decision that the Australian government is giving.
Look, I don't want to be in the middle of something which I kind of am not involved in because I don't have that issue of the two-week quarantine, all that. I don't want to go against anybody here. I don't know what to answer, to be honest.
Q. You've been having a tremendous year, despite things off court that aren't fun. That said, how at this point do you define success for yourself?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: I mean, first of all, you got to enjoy what you're doing. You got to enjoy being out on court. You got to enjoy playing tennis. I mean, after Wimbledon I really enjoyed every second that I was on court. I'm hoping that some of the things that you said will resolve themselves sooner rather than later I think with the ATP and everything like this. Hopefully it will come to a conclusion.
On the court I feel well. I feel well. I'm playing well. I'm enjoying myself. I hope I can continue doing so.
