Q. Craig said you guys are excited about this opportunity. It's obviously do or die for you guys. What's the vibe in the clubhouse? What's the vibe with the guys right now?
WILLY ADAMES: It's a great opportunity. The vibe is the best that we ever had in this series. Today, the guys, I guess they woke up in a great mood. They came with energy. And I feel today we had the best vibe that we've had so far this series so far.
Hopefully we can bring that to the field and come through and get this win and go back home for Game 5.
LUIS URÍAS: For me, it's fine, like, being in this opportunity. And things now look really good right now. But we have the opportunity to win tonight and get the series back to Milwaukee. And for me it's really fun.
Q. Do you guys see any advantage to having seen Charlie Morton just a few days ago in terms of what you can expect to see from him today?
WILLY ADAMES: Yeah, obviously, I guess we face him the best in the first game and we kind of got heads up in the first game of what he got and kind of try to make an adjustment today and see what was the mentality that he's going to come through today, and try and take advantage of him and try and do some damage because we haven't done anything yet. So we have to do it today.
LUIS URÍAS: I think he's a really good pitcher. He's really good. But talking about myself, I think if I focus on myself and what I need to do, what I need to do to compete, I think that's my key to do good things in the game. And I think that's for everybody on my team. And I think if we focused on ourselves, I think we can give the best of us.
Q. How did Willy help you when he came over to the team? What has Willy done for you in helping you put together the season that you did?
LUIS URÍAS: A lot of things. But one thing I would say is, like, how do I explain this, like have fun. When I see him play, see him being around, being a good teammate, I think that's what I can say right now. He kind of showed me how to enjoy the game again. And that's a really good thing that I've been having right now.
WILLY ADAMES: You better say something good. (Laughter).
Q. Willy, that last week when you guys were focused more on getting rest and being prepared making sure everybody was healthy, you didn't really play your, quote/unquote, A lineup together a lot. It was kind of half and half. Do you think it's had any effect on the offensive struggles in this series?
WILLY ADAMES: No, I wouldn't think so. I feel like -- we were talking about that today on the bus. This is the best pitching I've ever seen so far in my short career. Like, the guys haven't missed a lot of pitches. They might have missed five pitches the entire series.
You've got to give credit to them because they've been doing an unbelievable job on the mound -- everybody has executed the pitches, the locations, everything. And you've got to give credit to them when they deserve it.
So I wouldn't think that's the -- that's because everything's happening right now. But, like I say, I just think you've got to give credit to them.
But now it's on our side to make the adjustment and try and go out there and do what we have to do to get to Game 5.
Q. Eric Lauer has pitched so well for you down the stretch really, probably, two-thirds of the season. What's your confidence level in him today in such a big game?
WILLY ADAMES: We have a lot of confidence on him. Like you say, he's been pitching really good for us. He's been doing a tremendous job. We have the confidence that he's going to go and do the same today.
He knows that we need him the most today. And he came with a good attitude today. I know he's feeling good. Hopefully he can do that and he can execute everything today and throw a pretty good game for us. And hopefully we can put some runs for him and try to make him confident on the mound.
Q. Luis, one play that was talked about after the game yesterday was when the ball got away from the catcher when you were on first base, right before Omar doubled. Did you not have a good secondary lead or did you just not think it got away from him? What was your thought process there on not trying to advance?
LUIS URÍAS: I mean, for me I think it was like a tough play to see because it was in front of me. So I couldn't decide if it was close to the catcher or it was too far. But I could have done a better job. With two outs, I think you've got to play it safe, you know.
Q. Luis, could you talk about Eric Lauer, too, because you know him longer than anyone. And how hard do you think last year was for him? And how happy were you to see him have the season he had this year?
LUIS URÍAS: I was really happy for him. I know him since we were playing in the minor leagues. He's a good friend to me. And I'm really excited for him.
Obviously both of us didn't play well last year at all. It was a tough year. And seeing him coming from that year and having the year that he's having right now, I'm really happy for him.
Q. This is probably a question we should have asked Counsell. We didn't check in with him on Lorenzo Cain today. How does he look to you guys today? He thought he might be really sore today. He's obviously playing. Just what do you guys think about the way he gives his body up in center field like that?
WILLY ADAMES: I mean, he's a warrior. He always plays 100 percent. He gives everything he has on the field every time. And me, personally, I'm proud to share the field with him.
It's an honor for me because I've seen him play for a long time and he's always play hard. And yesterday we got kind of worried because he killed that wall. You've got to be careful.
But I think he might be a little sore today. But like I said in the beginning, he's a warrior. He's going to go and give his 100 percent today and hopefully he's not too sore. But I think he's feeling okay.
