An Interview with:
Q. What was going out there between you and Harvick?
CHASE ELLIOTT: I'm not sure. Really proud of our team. Just proud of moving our NAPA team. Did a really, really good job of fixing this thing. It's destroyed. I think we finished...
Q. ...12th.
CHASE ELLIOTT: 12th, so...
Yeah, I mean, our team has a lot of fight. I'm just super proud of that. As far as Kevin goes, just want to wish them a merry off-season and a happy Christmas.
Q. Your opinion of him wasn't too high after Bristol. I take it this does nothing for that?
CHASE ELLIOTT: Opinion's certainly not changing. But it's all good. Just glad we're moving on. Proud of our team.
Q. Is it over and can you race around him and win the championship without worrying about what's going on with him?
CHASE ELLIOTT: For us, we're just eyes forward. Just excited to be moving on. That's the big picture. That's really all that matters to me and our group. We'll keep fighting, see where we end up.
Q. You mentioned your team. A day like today seems to go a long way towards building some muscle for you as a group. Was today important to come back?
CHASE ELLIOTT: Absolutely, yeah, to overcome adversity. Fortunately it was early enough in the race where we were able to fix it. Got the caution, was able to keep fighting. Really proud of that.
We could have easily given up or not fixed it to the proper standard and had something break or had a tire rub. Everybody just did a really good job today and I'm super proud of that coming off of a really fast car. I thought we had a shot to win. Obviously that didn't happen. In the grand scheme moving on is the most important thing. Our season is still alive. I'm pumped.
