Quick Quotes
Q. Lindsey Weaver, a solid day to put yourself in contention heading into tomorrow. How did you find the golf course today?
LINDSEY WEAVER: I mean, it was definitely windier today than it was in the past two days. A little slightly colder. So I think I probably played a little more difficult, but pretty much the same as it's been playing in terms of softness of the greens and fairways.
Q. It's been kind of a tough season for you until a couple weeks ago in Arkansas. Finished top 10. What did you find there heading into this week?
LINDSEY WEAVER: I switched putters that week and actually got a little bit of a putting lesson from Emma Talley. Obviously I played well in Arkansas, and I just took what she gave me and kept going with it.
It's kind of funny. I was just like on the putting green I was frustrated and she was like, Do you need me to watch? I was like, Yeah. And she actually really helped me, so I have to give her a lot credit. She's one of my really, really good friends.
Q. Typical Emma. As somebody who has not really been in this position before, in contention in a lot of events, what are you doing off the golf course to prepare mentally?
LINDSEY WEAVER: Nothing. Just kind of doing the usual phone calls to the family and watching my shows, reading, you know, just the normal stuff honestly.
Q. Keeping your mind off the golf.
LINDSEY WEAVER: Yeah.
Q. What did Emma tell you and can you do it in your best Emma Talley accent?
LINDSEY WEAVER: Oh, I have a pretty good Emma accent. I've been around her for years. Okay.
Your hands are just so far back. You need to put your hands farther forward, they're so far back. I've never seen you that far back.
So I just --
Q. Moved them forward?
LINDSEY WEAVER: -- moved them forward, yeah. So I would move them forward and she would go, more, more, more. I'm like, Oh, my God. (Laughter.) Yeah, it worked I guess.
Q. That's great. When you're playing with the leader and the No. 2 player in the world, how difficult is it to stay in your bubble and watching your game as opposed to watching what someone else is doing?
LINDSEY WEAVER: I mean, I think I just been trying to do the same thing I been doing the past two days. The girls out there were great playing companions. It's been nice to have them, and my group the past two days was really fun. I'm having a fun week and got some good pairings and I've just been lucky.
Q. Speaking of that, obviously the hospitality has been great out here so far. Do you feel right at home at Mountain Ridge?
LINDSEY WEAVER: Yeah, this place is awesome. This is a really good golf course. It's very typical like Northeast, and I love golf courses like this.
I mean, the food this week, everyone has been so friendly and accommodating. This is such a good venue for us.
Q. How has Mountain Ridge played to your strengths of your game, and parts do you like more than others?
LINDSEY WEAVER: I think I always play better when greens are a tad bit softer, so these have been -- the greens have been very receptive, and I think they always roll very true.
So if you can read the greens out here and hit the ball well, then you should score well. So I think I've, for the most part, been doing that pretty well. Hopefully just do that tomorrow, too.
