Q. What was your first playoff experience like? Did you seek out advice beforehand? Were you nervous at all when you got up to the plate?
JAKE MEYERS: It was awesome. It was a dream come true. A lot of experience in that clubhouse, and I definitely asked questions. The guys came and gave me a lot of advice, and I think that helped me get comfortable and play well in the game.
Q. How special was it to not only get in there, but to make things happen when you got the chance?
JAKE MEYERS: It was awesome. My goal from the start has been to try and help the team win. So getting that hit in that situation was a lot of fun. Just get the win.
Q. Was your family here last night?
JAKE MEYERS: Yeah. My parents were here.
Q. How special was that to share that with them after the game?
JAKE MEYERS: It was a lot of fun, a lot of fun to see how excited they were and talk to them about everything, especially my dad. He played baseball. So it was just a lot of fun to talk about the little ins and outs of the game.
Q. Was there one piece of advice in particular that paid off last night?
JAKE MEYERS: I mean, really everything, but just the little things that were focused on, just the little details, just to get me ready and just focus on little things. Each guy kind of gave me something.
I mean, maybe it wasn't just yesterday, but throughout the whole season to get me ready for some of those moments.
Q. You hadn't hit all that well against righties this season. Knowing that, did you do anything differently to prepare for yesterday? Or what was your mentality knowing that?
JAKE MEYERS: Really I just tried to focus on what Lynn was going to bring and just focus on what I could do to give the team the best chance to win, best chance for me to do well.
Q. Who on this team has helped you specifically?
JAKE MEYERS: Shoot, it's tough to single out one guy because there's so many great teammates in that clubhouse. DÃaz has come up and talked to me through tough times. Brantley came and talked to me when I was struggling the past couple weeks.
Just being a great teammate and sharing things they learned when they went through some stuff. That was really valuable to me, and that got me through some of that stuff and got me ready for the playoffs.
But I mean, each one of them are great teammates; Maldonado, Correa's awesome, Correa's a great leader, great teammate, but everybody.
Q. Jake, what do you think about of being referred to as Rake Meyers?
JAKE MEYERS: I think it's hilarious. It's new to me this year, but it's fun to see.
