Quick Quotes
Q. Bogey-free is a pretty good way to end the tournament.
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yes.
Q. Pretty happy with your round today?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Absolutely. I just said to Brit, We finally played like us, and that feels really good. It was so fun to be back in contention. And, I mean, I'm not sure how Jin Young is going to finish those last few holes, and Inbee, but it was just fun to be near the top and have a chance to make a couple birdies coming in. I hit a couple good putts and they didn't fall.
And then would've been nice to give that eagle a chance on 18, but just to be there in two and have the opportunity is awesome.
So I'm really excited and looking forward to next week.
Q. What does, Play like us mean?
BROOKE HENDERSON: You know, just like being aggressive and confident on the golf course again, which feels awesome. Chase some birdies and making stuff happen and climbing the leaderboard.
That's what we love to do on Sundays and it's been a little while since we been doing that, so it feels really good.
Q. Did the couple you left on the edge, were they as close as they looked on television?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, especially 17. Like rolled right in behind it, so it was a little bit heartbreaking there. But tried to give it a good run on 18 to climb up a little bit more, but just maybe wasn't my day.
But Celine played great as well and it was really fun for both of us to be doing it together and pushing each other.
Q. Your speed control looks as good as it has maybe ever. Is that something you've been working on and what have you done to get there?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, the putting is always a work in progress with me. Yeah, I feel like I've made big gains in certain areas trying to give every putt an opportunity to go in.
Definitely speed control is a something I've really been focusing on the last three weeks or so.
Q. On a day like today where you're a little bit of a ways back, do you have a number in mind at the beginning of the day that you're like, If I can get to this number?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, yeah. I was trying to make as many birdies as I could. I had a number. I'm not going to say it, but I had it in my head that I was trying to chase down.
Within Inbee and Jin Young at the top you know you're going to have to play really well to even have a shot, but just to be back in contention, it was a lot of fun.
Q. The course seemed like it was very firm all week. Did you notice that?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, it was very firm. I think the firmest I ever played this course. I think it definitely took some adjusting. Yesterday early in the round I definitely felt the effects of it but was able to turn it around. I felt like we played solidly today and did some smart calculations.
Q. Do you get a bit reliant on good bounces, even good shots seem to be rolling away...
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, I mean, you always need breaks to play well and you always need breaks to win. I think you can be really smart about it though, and make smart guesses out there. You know, hopefully hit the shot in that area and it works out.
