Quick Quotes
Q. Where are joined by Jodi Ewart Shadoff after a 1-under, 70 in the subpoenaed round the ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer. You had four birdies on the scorecard and an eagle. Let's start with that eagle on 18. Take us through the hole.
JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, it was playing a little different today. It's into the wind, on the up tee, too. But I hit 3-wood. I was off the green. I probably had about 50 feet and I holed it from off the green.
So that was fun. Good crowd around.
Q. You talked about some of the mental work that you've been doing this season to kind of get in the right space. What was maybe something that you took away from today or you utilized today to stay steady out there and find the under-par round?
JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, I'm just trying to stay in my routine. I think it's really important for me to trust my routine and stay in the process. You know, just keep breathing.
It's a little bit of a different day for me today, up and down, but I tried to stay as steady as I could and just stayed with it.
Q. You mentioned there up and down, birdies, bogeys, not a lot of pars. How did you stay sort of stay steady when you're having a round like that?
JODI EWART SHADOFF: I just keep breathing, taking every shot as it comes, concentrating on every shot. You know, try not to get ahead of myself.
I had a really good hole-out from the bunker on No. 7, and that kind of settled me down finishing the round off.
Q. Ko has the lead right now. She has been such a force in the short time she's been out here. What's the mindset when you go into tomorrow chasing a player who has played as well as she has the past couple years?
JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, obviously I have to bring my A game tomorrow. At the same time, just kind of do what I've done the last couple days, staying my routine and taking every shot as it comes, and hopefully the putts will drop; they'll go my way.
Q. Are there opportunities on a course like this where you can make a lot of birdies and even some eagles, to where a three- or four-shot lead on this course might be a little tighter than a three- or four-shot lead on another course.
JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, absolutely. There are some really fun par-4s, but think par-5s are where the scoring is made. Depending on the wind you can pretty much get home on all the par-5s.
There is a lot of eagle chances. As I said, there is a couple of really good par-4s, and just have to stay steady on the par-3s. They're quite tough out here. Could definitely go any way tomorrow. As I said, just stick to my process and stay steady.
Q. Obviously you put yourself in contention, but over the next couple weeks climbing the CME Globe Rankings is an important part for the rest of the season. Do you feed off that, knowing that you need to have a good day to make jumps?
JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, I mean, obviously I'm just trying to take it one shot at a time and trying not to think about that kind of thing.
Obviously I feel like my game is really coming around. I putted well today, too. Just keep that going and see what happens.
Q. Maybe start Ted Lasso tonight.
JODI EWART SHADOFF: Maybe.
