THE MODERATOR: Could you just give your thoughts on today's match and your level of play through week 1 of the US Open.

MATTEO BERRETTINI: I'm really happy for today's win. I think it was really tough match, tough opponent. He's feeling obviously really well. He won in Winston-Salem. He was playing also before the American swing really well. I knew it would have been really tough.

I think I had to step up my game in order to win the match, and I did it in the fifth set. I'm really happy, because mentally and physically wasn't easy. I didn't have so many hours in my legs and in my body, so I did it, and I'm really happy that I was able to do it.
