Quick Quotes
Q. How much does it mean coming to Wentworth for the BMW PGA Championship?
MATT FITZPATRICK: It's one of the first ones that we always put down on the calendar, great to be back. First time I played here, Pádraig Harrington, excuse the language, screwed me over because I was first reserve and he was a bit injured and he went out and played six holes and withdrew, so I never got to play (laughing). Don't tell him that. No, that was when I first ever came down, first reserve, and then 2016 was my first appearance.
I never came to watch this as a kid, three hours from my house, so we never did it. But I knew the history. You see it on TV and you see this event, and yeah, it's a special event.
Q. Do you feel it's a golf course that suits you?
MATT FITZPATRICK: Definitely. Definitely does. Thing that stands out around here is that you have to drive it well and you have to putt well. Those are two things that I've done very well this year, so hopefully take it on into this week as well.
Q. Just outside The Ryder Cup rankings, how much is that on your mind, your position going into this week?
MATT FITZPATRICK: I'm in The Ryder Cup -- I'm sorry, what was that? I'm in The Ryder Cup rankings. I'm not guaranteed -- oh, sorry. Threw me there.
Obviously the good thing is it's in my hands, so I know if I go out and play well this week, there's nothing to worry about. Just purely concentrate on my own game and not worried about anything else or anyone else and how they are doing. It's just if I go out and play well, there's not going to be a problem.
Q. Having a taste of Ryder Cup golf, what would it mean to make the side?
MATT FITZPATRICK: It would be fantastic. It really would. I've got a lot of time with Pádraig and he's been with me throughout the whole process. So to be on his team and hopefully go over there, do well, it would mean a lot.
