Quick Quotes
Q. Anna, what is it about you and Lexi in Solheim Cup singles?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I don't know, but we both played so good today. I wish I could have made a few more putts. I felt like I rolled the putter good. I thought it was in on the last, but I mean, you can't ask for anything more, her playing good, me playing good. It's not easy out there. Some of the pins are really tough, greens are firm and it's quite windy. It's been quite the Monday, I guess.
Q. You hit the first shot of this Solheim Cup, you've played the anchor match in singles, you've played the first match this time in singles. Do you relish that role as a leader?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, it's a huge honor to know that Beanie believes in me. She asked me last night if I wanted to go early or late, but I said, I don't mind going early. She put me out first. I enjoyed it, enjoyed playing Lexi. We had a great match in '17, too. Those are the moments I practice for.
That first tee shot, I don't think I even missed like the middle stripe on the first tee shot on Saturday this week. It's just those moments I live for.
Q. Hopefully we see some more videos of your family celebrating after this.
ANNA NORDQVIST: Hopefully. My family is amazing. Hello back home. I wish they were here. It's been tough without any European fans. You hit good shots, you don't get any claps. You don't know if you missed a green.
I hit a good drive on 11 today to 15 feet; I didn't know if it was even on the green, and then I hit it to three feet on the next hole and there was just no claps, so you didn't know. But we miss the European fans, but I'm proud of my team this week.
