Q. Nelly, what a great match that was against Georgia Hall. Watching it all day, to me the pivotal hole was the sixth hole. Tell us a little bit about that and how that changed the momentum of the match.
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, I was 2-down early on and then won two back-to-back holes, and I think that kind of changed it all.
But it was close all day. Honestly it was 1-up to 2-up, it was kind of back and forth, but happy to get it done. I've touched every hole all week, so happy about that one.
Q. The team needs a little bit of help right there; put a full point for the United States on the board. What are you thinking about the rest of the matches this afternoon?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, hopefully it goes our way. I can't wait to get out and support the girls and hopefully get the crowd a little bit more hyped even though they really don't need much more because they're really loud.
Q. I think Stacy was saying there's never really been an American in a Solheim at No. 1. Did you cherish that and lead your team? When they look at the leaderboard and they see how you're fighting out there, does that kind of set a tone for everybody else do you feel?
NELLY KORDA: Yeah, hopefully. Coming into this week ranked No. 1 is not easy. There's definitely a lot more pressure on you. But the girls just did a really good job welcoming every single one of us. The captains, the co-captains, they did a great job making us feel like one.
Honestly, it's been a really fun week.
Q. How difficult just did this course play, let alone having to play the match play style?
NELLY KORDA: This is a really tough golf course. Honestly, I would say this is major championship ready, and it was crazy, my caddie and I were talking, and even Jess and I were talking. I legitimately played Evian, Olympics, British and then this, so theoretically I'm playing like four major golf courses in a row, so it's definitely been a little mentally draining because you have to concentrate so much more on these hard golf courses and making sure you're not making so many mistakes and taking your losses when you can.
But it's been a lot of fun.
