Q. You did it at Gleneagles; you did it today. How did they get it done?
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Just an amazing team actually. They came out here and performed. We got off to a great start this morning winning the first kind of five or six people coming in winning some of their games. I'm kind of lost for words actually at the moment.
Just obviously want to see Emily try and win her game and just clinch it.
Q. You told me before the singles matches teed off earlier today that you knew what it was like to win as a player in the U.S.; how does it feel now as a captain?
CATRIONA MATTHEW: I think it's even sweeter as a captain actually. It's certainly more nerve-racking watching. It's all down to the team really, it's if they play well, so all hats off to them.
Q. Six weeks ago Matilda Castren was not even eligible to be on this team, and now she rolls in the putt to guarantee the Solheim Cup. What can you say about Matilda?
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Just a superstar. I mean, that putt she holed there on 18, I mean, she had a plugged lie in the bunker, and then to roll that putt just lipped in the middle, we all just kind of exploded at the side of the green there.
Q. No one has ever won two Solheim Cups as a European captain. You've now done it. Congratulations.
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Thanks.
Q. A huge congratulations on winning the Solheim Cup. How are you feeling right now?
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Just unbelievable. Really can't believe it. My team have been so fantastic all week, and it was really up to them. I really don't do a whole lot. They just go out there and they win the points for us.
Q. How proud are you of your team, obviously even more so here on U.S. soil?
CATRIONA MATTHEW: So proud of them. We knew it was going to be tough this year with really no European fans, and they just dug in deep. Especially yesterday even when the crowds were getting pretty light, really hung in, came out with a great finish yesterday, and then today great to start with and then it kind of looked a little dodgy, but great play and just so proud (indiscernible).
Q. When the tide was maybe starting to turn, how did you keep it together?
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, it was nerve-racking. We won three and a half out of the first four I think it was, and then the tide started turning and I kept looking at the leaderboard and thinking, I don't know if we're going to get that extra point and a half that we needed.
Then Matilda made a fantastic putt here on 18. I'm so pleased for Emily to hole that putt on 18 and (indiscernible).
